Testimonials

We have just spent four nights at Captain Cook Holiday Village and overall had a lovely stay. The park was quiet, shady, had large sites and clean amenitites.

Had a Great Time!

We had two nights on powered site with our caravan, two kids, two adults. We loved the pool, it was shaded and cool water! The disabled bathroom was fanatastic for our disabled child, clean and modern. The takeaway was slow but nice. Managers were very friendly and up for a chat. We will visit again. We went to the main beach for swimming and water was beautiful. Good access but was a windy day so surf not great.

Loved the Park

It is our idea of bush camping. Large well spaced out sites under magnificent trees with an abundance of bird life. There are 2 amenity blocks, both clean and functional, a camp kitchen, a swimming pool and an amazing on site Indian Restaurant, dine in or takeaway, which also specialises in fish and chips. We enjoyed a gorgeous freshly cooked Indian meal in our van before retiring for a peaceful night. The following day it was a 15 minute walk to the very private beach.

Camping at its very best

Nice place to stay, great activities nearby and friendly staff. Short walk to the beach. Clean rooms and good facilities. Excellent for camping or caravans. Close to Agnes Waters and Seventeen Seventy. Easy drive to both.

Great Place

Just dropping through but we think we might revisit for a holiday in the warmer months. Reminds me of caravan parks when I was a kid. Beautiful setting, nice cabins and very peaceful. Very competitively priced and love the onsite Indian and general store as we arrived unprepared. Simple, well equipped and relaxed.

Lovely Peaceful Caravan Park

We only stayed a couple of nights in our caravan on a powered site, but we really enjoyed the quiet, restful serenity of the Park. The “other” Park at 1770 down by the ocean, was far too crowded and hectic for us, so the “Rural Retreat” as we caled it, suited us just fine. The Amenities were very clean and the staff friendly… what more could you want!?

Lovely Quiet Rural Setting

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were great and helpful. The campground also has a public cooking area with a gas BBQ so you can cook your meals outside. Go for a walk at night to see the cane toads and other nightlife in the area.

Great value for money

Stayed for a week in this lovely little place around new years (very little late night noise which was great) and found helpful and understanding staff and a fantastic location. The cabin was very spacious and well equipped with the staff coming to collect any rubbish in the mornings. Location was great with a short scenic walk to the beach as well as a short walk or drive to both 1770 and Agnes Waters, there is also a quaint morning market just down the road. The Captain Cook Holiday Village has well maintained communal toilets and showers, coin operated washing machines and dryers and a store stocked with all the essentials making my stay very comfortable and most of all relaxing.

Exceptional stay, great memories

We stayed her over New Year. It is lovely with a rural setting, and the beach is just down the road. The staff were lovely and friendly, and we had no problems at all. They have a pool – I think they are the only caravan park with a pool in the area. Great for the kids to cool down if you don’t want to go to the beach. Markets are one monthly and are just a little walk away. Overall great relaxing place to stay.
