What’s going on in Agnes Water

Posted on May 3, 2013

Hello all and welcome to this week’s blog. Hope all is well. Firstly, it was a great turnout and great time had by all involved for the ‘Quilteze’ Biggest Morning Tea held yesterday, May 3rd. The Agnes Water Quilters and Textile Group were MCs for the day sawing up a storm in a tea cup (pun intended). The goal is to raise $13 million, off to a flyer start already cracking the first small milestone of $100 thousand. To donate log onto biggestmorningtea.com.au and support cancer research.

There’s a few save the dates going on soon in Agnes Water. The local talents are going to be flaunted in the upcoming festivals, showing star music acts and the next Queensland da Vinci in the art festival. I’ve heard some of the music performers; it’ll be a great event. These are both in late May; I’ll keep you up-to-date so stay in touch.

Don’t miss this Sunday football as the home town boys, Agnes Waters Marlins travel to Gin Gin to take down Gin Gin. They flock to support their team so let’s show the local pride and back our boys.

Seems like winter as finally hit and changed the mercury. First time in weeks the Agnes Water weather isn’t hovering around the 27 degree make. Having said that is not far off hovering solid at the 24 degree mark. The weekend looks to have the sun smiling on use so make the most of it.

Surf is giving much at the moment but will pick up some time. It’s ripe old knee high out there with waves lucky to reach the chest. It’s not all bad though, the winds set to pick and the odd nice waves coming in. If your keen for a surf head beach way and gage the wind, throwing grass in the air will do the trick.

Also on the water front haven’t been fishing for a while myself but seen some big ones being caught. If you’re looking for dinner get the rod and reel. You could have dinner covered for a week, some of the fish were huge.

Thanks for reading and again let’s hear what you have to say. Pop by the Captain Cook Holiday Village Facebook  page and give your thoughts.
