It’s Captain Cook Festival Time!

Posted on May 24, 2013

The warm up to the Captain Cook Festival starts tonight, get on down and get on board. Opening at 7pm is the Art n’ Jazz at the Captain Cook 1770 Festival Art Show & Quilting Exhibition, Agnes Water Community Centre. Get into a smooth relaxing groove with some of the great local talent on display.

The town festivities will be in full swing when Captain Cook 1770 Festival kicks off drawing people out from far and near, always great for Agnes Water. It is a great way to show off what Agnes Water has to offer as well as being an awesome time for the whole family. The festival will have market stalls, rides, entertainment, music, acts, even a street parade and more.

If the crowds and fanfare of the festivities isn’t your thing there’s still always fishing, beach and surfing.

Having said that today’s surf is shaping up to be flat as a tack, only the odd rumble in the waves here or there. It should get better though through the weekend so keep an eye on the beach and surf. The winds will pick up later in the day too, should shape up nicely for a bit of chop.

A few nerves were put to rest for the weekend long festival when the weather forecast came out. Looks to hold true and stay sunny over the weekend and the start of the week. There will be sunshine and a hovering temperature of 22 to 23 degrees for most of the week.

There’s been some ripper fish caught out on the beaches. It’s a great time for fishing. If you’re an amateur looking for a bit of fun, sharpen your hunting skills and a free feed the Agnes Water Amateur Fishing Club is the ticket. If it sounds like something you’re interested in give Steve (president) a call on 0437 535 170.

Thanks for stopping for this week’s blog and again don’t forget to stop by the Captain Cook Festival.
