Great Captain Cook Festival last weekend!

Posted on May 31, 2013

Despite the last minute change of venue everyone found their way. The Captain Cook 1770 Festival committee was forced to relocate moments before the festivities began due to water on site. The new location is an old faithful for events in Agnes Water, the SES grounds. The excess water didn’t dampen the festival, seeing a great turn out. It was a great weekend filled with talented acts, well pulled off again by the festival organisers.

To local grassroots rugby and the Marlins are looking good this season, comfortably sitting second on the table. The change of training grounds has done the boys a world of good. It is a home game this weekend so pen it in, get down and support the Agnes Waters own Marlins. The sun will be out, can’t wait.

The rest of the week has its mark stuck at 23 degrees again. There will be a couple of small showers here or there but mainly fine and sun shining. The wind will be around at times to, so keep an eye on the surf. Today’s morning surf made for a great wake up, a few nice, clean, big ones in the mix. It should continue to so grab the board head down to the local beach.

There are a few other events on this week to get you out and about. Tomorrow the month of June will ignite into action with it being Rural Fire Service Day. To support the days cause head to Captain Creek Sport and Recreation from 2pm onwards. It should be fun for the whole family with a BBQ and family friendly activities. Other family activities Agnes Water offers that don’t break the bank are 4 wheel driving tracks, kite surfing, reef trips and tours, sailing, of course fishing and a bunch more.

Thanks for reading this weeks blog, till next time. We would love to hear from you, drop a line on the parks Facebook page . Enjoy yourself from the Captain Cook Holiday Village crew.
